Public Foreclosure Notice

NOTICE OF MORTGAGE FORECLOSURE Default having been made in the terms and conditions of a certain Mortgage in the original principal amount of $15,000.00 by and between Best Family Financial Credit Union, whose address is 1888 E. Sherman Boulevard, Muskegon, MI 49444 as Mortgagee, and Herman Ray Evelhoch, whose address is 5926 E. River Rd., Twin Lake, MI 49457, as Mortgagor, dated August 21, 2020, and recorded on August 31, 2020, in Liber 4231, Page 674, Muskegon County Register of Deeds, concerning real property commonly known 5926 E. River Rd., Twin Lake, MI 49457 (the “Properties”), because of non-payment of installments and/or interest and non-payment of real property taxes. The amount due under the mortgage as of July 7, 2026, is $15,702.62, principle and accrued interest, with interest continuing to accrue at the rate of 8.750%. No suit or proceedings at law or in equity have been instituted to recover the debt secured by said mortgage or sale contained in said mortgage or any part thereof. Now, therefore, by virtue of the power of sale contained in said mortgage, and pursuant to the statute of the State of Michigan in such case made and provided, notice is hereby given that on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. said mortgage will be foreclosed by a sale at public auction, to the highest bidder at the Pine Street entrance to the Michael E. Kobza Hall of Justice Building in Muskegon, MI. Under MCL 600.3240(8), the length of time that the property may be redeemed by the Mortgagor is six months after the date of sale, or Thursday, March 18, 2027. Should said real property be sold, the Mortgagor will be held responsible to the purchaser of said property for any damage to said property during the redemption period. The description of the property being foreclosed on is located in the Township of Cedar Creek, County of Muskegon, State of Michigan, and is legally described as follows: Commencing at the Southeast corner of the Southwest ¼ of the Southwest ¼ of Section 27, town 11 North, Range 15 West, Cedar Creek Township, Muskegon County, Michigan; thence West 250 feet; thence North 300 feet; thence Est 250 feet; thence South 300 feet to the point of beginning.
